Raw Milk Rally in Los Angeles

The Raw Milk rally was awesome. Met so many folks who drove or flew in from San Francisco, Ventura, San Diego, Orange County and a few from Santa Barbara.

Who are these folks? Hippies? Right wing lunatics?

Nope, these folks were your basic everyday Americans you work with. Young, old, moms, dads. These folks while angry inside were very positive and friendly on the outside. One thing I noticed was that some of them had never protested before.

Why? I guess as someone said it best here:

“If we are not even free anymore to decide something as basic as what we wish to eat or drink, how much freedom do we really have left?”

If you’re the congressman calling type, maybe give your rep a ring about H.R. 1830, which would legalize the sale of raw milk across state lines, removing federal authority from this totally inappropriate corner of our grocery stores to which it has crept.

At the end of the day, when LA Weston A. Price Foundation Chapter leader Victoria Bloch was brought to the cell, someone jokingly commented to me, "Look how tiny she is, but don't let appearance deceived you, she is a VERY DANGEROUS lady! She is giving raw milk (clarification: not drugs, not guns, not alcohol which all are legal) to folks who want it."

Another sad observation - I watched the whole court proceeding, it was truly disappointing to see where all our taxpayers dollars were going - judge, clerks, officers, prosecutioners, jailer, especially at a time when they are cutting funding and teachers from our schools.

Anyway, enjoy the photos below and you can also read more from the Ventura co-chapter leader here:  Joanie and Jean Do LA and Almost Get Thrown Out of Court
The Weston A. Price Foundation Ventura chapter co-leaders Joanie Blaxter and Jean Pedersen. Would the government come after them next for educating folks about the difference between raw milk and raw milk that needs pastuerization or providing information on where to obtain raw milk?

Friendly and passionate people from all backgrounds were protesting. Many I talked to said they had never done anything like this before.

Passionate and wonderful folks giving their all!

Hannah Crum (the Kombucha Mama) of KombuchaKamp.com and Mark McAfee of Organic Pastures both bringing their tireless energy and spirit. Mark was truly pushing the cause and giving interviews left and right and keeping the reporters and crowd up to date on the issues. Mark is a great inspiration for everyone to do good!

Many moms with babies were there.

Mark McAfee treated Eric Brody and many to some raw milk to quench our thirst and hunger after many hours on the street.
